The Rotary Foundation and Rotary Club of Jacksonville Charity Foundation
THE FOUNDATION: The mission of The Rotary International Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance worldunderstanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.
The Rotary Club of Jacksonville has been a national leader in participation and involvement. Our Rotary Foundation is fuel for all the energy
Rotarians worldwide have to "do good" in the world. Doin' good has been the mission for the Foundation since its inception in 1912 the year our club was founded. The foundation committee is among the most active groups and important in our club.
Our District 6970 Foundation Committee's mission is to support each club's initiatives from fund raising to project fulfillment. Each of our 11 sub-committees addresses a special area and is manned by Rotarians who understand the process to make changes in our local and world communities by using the opportunities of The Rotary Foundation.
There are many opportunities for you to be involved in tax deductible giving opportunities, bequests and support of a multitude of programs such as Polio Plus, ambassadorial scholarships and teaching grants, outreach programs for health and humanitarian services including local, regional and international projects.

JACKSONVILLE ROTARY CHARITY FOUNDATION
Our club's Charity Foundation is supported by our member contributions of $300/year. It awards approximately $70,000 each year to local charities.
JACKSONVILLE CLUB TAKES THE LEAD
The club's Project and Screening Committee reviews all applications and determines which organizations will be selected to receive funds in a given year. The Rotary Club of Jacksonville Charity Foundation was founded in 1952 by former President Spencer Ladd who believed our members should be doing more than just eating lunch and hearing good speakers each Monday.
A list of prior organizations who have received funds is listed in the front of the Jacksonville tab in the annual Roster.
