2024 River City Readers event

On Saturday, January 27, over 2,000 families visited Jacksonville Mayor Deegan's River City Reader event at the Jacksonville Public Library's main location. And your Hands-On Committee arranged for two days' Rotarian volunteer support. River City Readers is a city-wide literacy challenge for school-aged children.

On December 12 and 14, Rotarians continued the proud tradition of raising money for the Salvation Army by staffing the collection point at the Riverside Publix Grocery Store.

2020 Food Drive

Rotarians, Downtown Rotaract members, and River City Science Academy Interact members joined forces to support local families who depend on food banks during this holiday season.. The highly successful food drive was organized by the Club's Hands-On Committee, led by Peter Hicks. Food items and cash were collected the week before Thanksgiving, to be delivered to Feeding Northeast Florida.

Upholding a decades-long tradition, Rotarians braved the chilly weather to encourage shoppers at the Riverside Publix store to "fill the kettle."

Although the pandemic caused cancellation of the "Where There Is Smoke, There's Fire" event, the Club -- through generous support from sponsors and other donors -- fulfilled its purpose in partnering with the American Red Cross to make local homes more fire-safe.
